Poll #1488055 Friday Poll #3

Are you getting the H1N1 flu shot?

Already have.
13(9.7%)
Yes, sometime.
11(8.2%)
I would but I can't afford it.
2(1.5%)
I would but it's not available where I live.
8(6.0%)
No.
64(47.8%)
I don't know.
25(18.7%)
Some other answer not covered by these oppressive radio buttons.
11(8.2%)

What best describes your general feelings towards the government of your country (i.e. where you live primarily and/or pay taxes)?

Unimitigated trust and goodwill: the government always has my best interests at heart, and while there are some bad politicians, they are in the minority.
0(0.0%)
Cautious optimism: the government probably has my best interests at heart but I don't feel I can rely on it to do right by me all the time.
25(18.8%)
Generalised wariness: while there may be people at all levels of government who really want to do the right thing, there is too much money and power involved for anyone's motives to be really pure.
75(56.4%)
Distrust: if it weren't for the constitution/charter of rights, they'd treat me like livestock, and I believe my government and its affiliates (police, etc) will try to do so at every opportunity anyway.
16(12.0%)
Extreme prejudice: governments are nothing but circlejerks of greedy and corrupt narcissists who only care about amassing wealth and influence; all else is incidental.
9(6.8%)
None of the above captures my general feelings on government with sufficient precision.
8(6.0%)

Let's say your name is Amanda and you do not ever go by any shortened version or a nickname. Someone addresses you as Mandy. This is:

FUCKING OBNOXIOUS
69(52.3%)
ALL RIGHT I GUESS
39(29.5%)
SOMETHING ELSE
24(18.2%)

What about the above question with respect to Internet nicknames?

If someone's name is HarryLuvsHermy77 and her profile says you can call her HLH for short, it's obnoxious and overly-familiar to invent other abbreviations (HaLuHe, HarryHermy, HarryLuvs) when you don't know that the owner of the nickname is okay with it.
53(40.5%)
Internet nicknames are not real names, therefore people can feel free to change/shorten/lengthen them however they like.
43(32.8%)
Something else.
35(26.7%)

Ticky box?

TICKY BOX! :D
11(8.9%)
TICKY BOX! >:0!
4(3.2%)
LLAMA!1
28(22.6%)
JUST FYI QUESTION 2 IS NOT AN ATTEMPT TO GAUGE PERCENTAGES OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT; IT'S JUST A CONVERSATION-STARTER.
4(3.2%)
WHY YES THE LAST TWO TICKY BOXEN ARE FAIR GAME FOR PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING WHY DO YOU ASK
13(10.5%)
