forgave the less of 'em, and blazed at the rest of 'em
So I rewatched Training Day (with Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke) today. The last time I saw it, I was half-asleep and had little input besides OMG DENZEL PRETTY, this time I actually watched the damn thing. Spoilers follow. Christ, my morals must really be fucked up, beause I was nearly spitting at the screen by the end. A crooked narc who's put away countless big movers to a tune of over fifteen thousand combined years in sentences, versus a self-righteous rookie with his head up his arse, wanting the world to conform to his ideals of justice? Give me the crooked narc any. Fucking. Day. Just sayin'.
I also watched the Narnia movie today. You know, it's been probably about 20 years since I've read the books, but I don't remember Peter and Susan being so... flat. The only characters with any actual personality were Edmund and Lucy. The witch was so over-the-top evil, she made me laugh. Even old Volders is scarier. It didn't help that the Christian rhetoric was practically waving its hands off the screen, stomping its feet and yelling, "notice me, dammit darn it!". I got nothing against a little Christian rhetoric now and again, but yiiikes.
