0010 - The Weasley twins belong to a wizarding world bound to secrecy, with its own, self-contained culture (including its own music). This begs the question of how exactly they know who "It's Lance Bass!" is.
I admit I occasionally wonder if I'm the only one who actually remembers this rather salient point about the HP canon, because I cannot tell you how many times I've been thrown right the fuck out of a fic when pure-blood wizards start leaping about in Gucci loafers. However, cracked.com taking on fan fiction? n00bs. I mean, if you're going to talk about "out there" pairings, there's Squidwarts, and Cthulhu/any human, and and and!
0011 - For me, slash is primarily about who's involved; I don't think I will ever understand slash for its own sake. I have come to the conclusion that I can't identify with "seeing the world through slash goggles". Two men in close proximity to each other does not automagically equal OMG SECKSINGS to me any more than two women in close proximity to each other does. I do not see a point in putting people or characters together just because they both happen to be male (or female). I guess I see it as the equivalent of random pairings in hetfic/mainstream fiction -- pointless unless there's at least one character-specific reason for it.
0100 - That said, Gokudera and Yamamoto from Hitman Reborn are so doing it. I finished reading the manga so far earlier and OMG OTP. :DD
