This ended up running, um, a bit longer than the 23K I promised, but I hope you don't mind. I am very sorry that I was unable to get this beta-read, but I ran into an unexpected time-crunch last week, and now I still have to finish a monster of a Gintafic before the end of the year. I know I would not be able to focus on that if I still had this in the pipeline in any form, and I really can't delay finishing it any longer. I hope you enjoy the story anyway, but if not, I guess I'll just have to write you another one. :"> ♥
Title: Below a Broken Wing
Disclaimer: JKR owns. I only play. You do not sue.
Summary: As the world heals post-war, Draco tries to avoid Harry Potter like the black plague, and Harry pretends Draco Malfoy doesn't exist. So why is it that they keep on crossing paths? Featuring noble winged steeds, moving houses, bizarre coincidences, ancient technology, feeble excuses, harsh honesty, Miss Flappington, and words from the past.
Beta: None. Read at your own risk.
Note: Written for silyara's prompt here. Title is a paraphrased lyric from Drilled a Wire Through my Cheek by Blue October (fuck yeah kicking it old-school >_>). Both Ron and Ginny are in this story, so even though Draco is the POV character (and thus should really be using their surnames), he refers to them by their given names in his own mind; this is something I chose to do because I believe it is more important to minimise reader confusion than maintain a relatively minor aspect of character.
Concrit: Always welcome and appreciated.
